Our practice pays tribute to all of the civilizations before us that have used ceramics to define their culture and improve their way of life.
We are predicated on the belief that architectural spaces should reflect the cultural contexts in which they exist. Our tiles are a medium for the conveyance of meaning. More than texture, beyond aesthetic, the cultural significance of geometric ornamentation in the Arab world, reimagined through a design language that projects heritage into the future, results in something that is at once strikingly new and inherently familiar.

Material:
Our tiles are made from a porcelain-based mid-fire stoneware, fired to full vitrification. Our glazes are non toxic. We utilize high-pressure hydraulic press fabrication techniques that result in dimensionally accurate, fully densified, low porosity architectural-grade ceramic surfaces, ideal for vertical indoor applications.

Created in 2025, Kotaso Co. is a tile design and manufacturing studio based in the UAE, currently in the prototyping and early production stage. Our prototype and small batch productions are slip cast from our Abu Dhabi facility. Large scale production
